Tokyo Banana is a long selling and popular Japanese souvenir sweet of Tokyo. This version of the original Tokyo Banana has the same banana shaped fluffy sponge cake but filled with a rich coffee milk custard cream.
Real strained bananas and coffee are used to make the cream. Coffee is also added on the dough to make the raccoon image on the cake.

These snacks were a little expensive, but I was intrigued so I decided to try these banana cakes for the first time ever. They are delicious and worth every penny! The soft cake with the delicious coffee milk filling was delightful. Needless to say they did not last long. I'll purchase again one day when I see them on sale. Highly recommend.

My daughter and I discovered Tokyo Banana Cake in Tokyo last year. We went crazy for them and the airport, Haneda, could hardly keep them on the shelves! We had to order them here, even with the costly shipping, because we loved them so much. I will be ordering again for sure!
