Hi-Chew is a popular Japanese candy brand known for its unique chewy texture and intense fruit flavors. But do you know just how many flavors of this delectable Japanese candy are available in Japan? In this article, we’ll cover every Hi-Chew flavor (all 204) that have ever been available in Japan!

What Is Hi-Chew?

Before diving into all of the Japanese Hi-Chew flavors, let’s briefly discuss what Hi-Chew is. Hi-Chew, owned by Morinaga, was created as a sweet for adults and made its debut in 1975. It originally came in a box and had a three-layer structure with a white, sweet chewy layer on the top and bottom and a fruity layer sandwiched between. It intended to provide consumers with a soft, chewy candy snack with a fruity punch.

Hi-Chew candies are made from fruit juices and purees, giving them their authentic fruity taste. They come in a variety of flavors (which we will discuss in the next sections of this article!) and have gained popularity not only in Japan but also internationally, becoming a beloved treat for people of all ages.
